NEXT STEPS: COLLEGE

  • Make sure you have PAID the $150 fee
  • Many programs still available if you haven’t applied to all 5 already: Check OCAS website
  • Marks sent to OCAS on Friday (Feb 14)

-Make sure you signed the Post-Secondary Institutions Disclosure of Information Consent Form

on School Cash Online to send marks

-Next upload will be after midterms (April 25th)

  • May 1: Most common deadline for confirming offers of admission (BUT not the only one so check your offer of admission)

NEXT STEPS: UNIVERSITY

  • Marks will be uploaded to OUAC on THURSDAY this week: GO AND CHECK!
    • Next upload will be after midterms (April 24th)
  • Check your online portal often for deadlines and your “To Do List”

(ie UWaterloo: Quest, Laurier: Loris)

  • Many universities ask for additional information sheet (not really optional)

For example: AIF: UWaterloo – Engineering/Math/Accounting (Due Date: Jan 31/Feb 14)

ABS: Laurier ( Due Date: April 25th)

SPF: UofG (Due Date: March 1st)

            • Early acceptance ☹ : Do not stress!! Many universities and programs won’t offer

IMPORTANT DATES:

              • May 29: Last day you should expect a response (offer of admission or refusal)
              • June 2: Accept or decline your offer (you do not need to make a decision before this date)
              • June 4: Ontario universities posts lists of programs that still have spots available

NEXT STEPS: COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY

  • Can’t decide/unsure where to go
    • Visit the campus and residences, speak to students and admissions

  • Wait to accept an offer until all offers have come in

  • Scholarships and Bursaries
    • Look under the RCSS website
    • Look at the scholarship/bursary website for the colleges and universities you applied to

  • You can apply for residence after you have accepted an offer (check deadlines)

  • Apply for OSAP (once you have accepted an offer)
    • Use the OSAP calculator

NEXT STEPS: WORK

  • Reach out to find your apprentice (trade unions)
  • Brush up your resume and cover letter
  • Apply in person not just online
  • Go back to the places you have applied to and ask the manager if they received your application package
  • Colleges have some programs available for students in the workplace pathway: See your Guidance Counsellor

RETURNING FOR A 5TH YEAR

-If you applied to college or university you no longer have access to Myblueprint

Email/see your Guidance counsellor once you decide not to accept offer if you plan to come back

-Student who did not apply to College or University still have access

If you do not plan to come back please go into MBP and click “NOT RETURNING NEXT YEAR”. Any Grade 12 student who has not picked courses or done this by Feb 28 will automatically be deactivated from MBP

RETURNING FOR A 5TH YEAR CONTD.

-You must have a plan and will need to take a minimum of 3 courses a semester

-Course selections due Feb 28 in MyBlueprint

-St. Louis has many courses (online/in person) that you can complete in 7 weeks

NOTE: 5th year students may need to get approval from their administrator to return (dependent on attendance, success and behaviour)

All students in the Class of 2025 participate in convocation: a celebration of your high school career.

Convocation Fee - $100

Includes:

  • Participation in ceremony at the Centre in the Square
  • Convocation photos sitting fee, proofs and composite
  • Convocation Honour Day on May 16th in the Gym
  • Keepsake
  • Gown, Stole, Charm to keep & ……….Results if Cap or No Cap worn at Ceremony…

Fee due via Cash-on-line by March 6th

Additional Costs

Tickets for Convocation guests will be purchased through the Centre In the Square at a cost of $5.00 each plus service fees.

More details will be provided in April.

CONVOCATION PHOTOS

  • Starts March 24th in the Dance Studio

The sitting fee for photos is included in the Convocation Fees. If your Convocation Fees are paid, you will received an appointment time by email in mid March.

If you choose not to attend the Convocation and still wish to have your photo taken for the composite, this can also be paid on cash-on-line.
