MSU’s Distinctive Teacher Preparation Program:

• All MSU teacher preparation students must complete a 1-year teaching internship after earning an undergraduate degree.
• Teaching interns earn 12 graduate level credits that can, with program approval, be applied toward several master’s degree programs offered by the College of Education.
• The Elementary and Secondary Education Programs have been ranked #1 nationally for 28 consecutive years.

Data Collection &

Placement Information

In Fall 2022, an electronic version of the Destination Survey was sent to 238 teacher candidates who completed their initial teacher certification during the 2021-2022 academic year. By January 2023, we collected outcomes for 137 students resulting in a 58% knowledge rate and a 96% placement rate. Placement includes employment, continuing education, and ‘other.’ It excludes unemployment and pause in education. The results in this report are based on survey responses to individual questions asked and other data mining results. Not all respondents answered every question and not all questions could be answered through data mining.
