Big Bang Theory

A popular scientific explanation for how the universe began.

According to the standard theory, our universe sprang into existence as a "singularity" around 13.7 billion years ago. (A Singularity is an event that defies scientific understanding.)

Simply put, it says the universe as we know it started with an infinitely hot and dense single point that inflated and stretched — first at unimaginable speeds, and then at a more measurable rate — over the next 13.7 billion years to the still-expanding cosmos that we know today.

Theory of Evolution

The theory presumes the development of life from non-life and stresses a purely naturalistic (undirected) "descent with modification". That is, complex creatures evolve from more simplistic ancestors naturally over time. In a nutshell, as random genetic mutations occur within an organism's genetic code, the beneficial mutations are preserved because they aid survival -- a process known as "natural selection." These beneficial mutations are passed on to the next generation. Over time, beneficial mutations accumulate and the result is an entirely different organism (not just a variation of the original, but an entirely different creature).

24-Hour Interpretation /

Young earth creationism (YEC):

�The 24-Hour Interpretation holds that God created all the universe in the space of six, regular solar days. Young earth creationists usually place the age of the earth at 6,000 years -10,000 years old.

Old earth creationism (OEC)

is an umbrella term used to describe biblical creationists who deny that the universe was created within the last 6,000 to 10,000 years over the course of six consecutive 24-hour days. Rather, old earth creationists believe that God created the universe and its inhabitants (including a literal Adam and Eve) over a much longer period of time than is allowed for by young earth creationists.

Day-Age Theory

A popular of current theory used to reconcile scientific evidence with God's Word, the Day-Age Theory takes aim on the Hebrew word for "day": yôm. Stating that the word, while often meaning a 24-hour period, can also refer to an indeterminate duration, these theorists proclaim that a valid (and moreover, proper) literal understanding of the Creation account will interpret each day as an era, or age, lasting a great length of time.

Gap Theory

Is the view that God created a fully functional earth with all animals, including the dinosaurs and other creatures we know only from the fossil record. Then, the theory goes, something happened to destroy the earth completely—most likely the fall of Satan to earth—so that the planet became without form and void. At this point, God started all over again, recreating the earth in its paradise form as further described in Genesis.

Progressive creationism

Is the belief that God created the heavens and the earth over a period of billions of years, not the six 24-hour days that is the basis for the traditional creationism view.

Some believe The “Big Bang” was God’s way of producing stars and galaxies through billions of years of natural processes.

Apparent-Age Theory

Believe God must have created the universe to look as if it were very old. After all, God made Adam full-grown, for what reason should we not believe that He made the rest of the universe old as well?

Which Theory is correct?

Creation

God created the heavens and the earth.

God Created everything on the earth

God created man in his image. In his image he created them male and female.

If God is the designer and creator of the universe as well as everything and everyone in it.

It is not me having right answers, information or understanding the mysteries of the universe. I don’t have to be that smart. In reality, I am not that clever. His ways are much higher than my ways. I don’t get them, I don’t have to. I am only asked to trust him. To follow him.
