Warm Up: Look at Images!
Look at these image of flowers! Notice what is the same about each of them. Notice what is different about each one.
About 2-5 minutes
This one is a painting by Georgia O’Keeffe, called Red Canna. -->

Draw a Flower that Fills the Page

Supplies Needed:
-Pencil
-Paper
-Coloring supplies
Draw a Flower that Fills the Page
We looked at pictures of flowers. Now, you will draw one! Start by drawing a circle in the middle of your page. Then add curving lines around it. Add more curved lines until your page is full. Draw first with pencil; then color.
I colored my flower different colors. You can do the same as me. Or you can do something different!
Remember to sign your name.
About 15 minutes
Share your art!
Raise your hand if you would like to share. You can come to the front of the room. Show your art and talk about what you made. Everyone in the class should be quiet while someone shares.
Afterwards, everyone can hold their art up from their seats. They can look around and see each other’s.
About 5 minutes
Extra Time: Coloring Sheet!
The substitute will hand you a coloring sheet.

Clean up your art supplies!
You can take today’s art home with you!
