How We Help Prepare Your Child

The school will send parents a sms text upon our safe arrival to Madagui. In addition, nightly email updates will be sent out by the Communications Department.

Cell phones will be allowed only in specific situations:

  • on the bus to the site
  • on the bus from the site to Ho Chi Minh City

Cell phones will be collected by chaperones upon arrival to the site and safely secured throughout the trip.

You can contact the MS Office during school hours if you need to relay any information to your child. An evening emergency contact number will also be provided to all parents.

The school will send you a link with a password to access daily pictures on the SmugMug platform. These images will be posted every evening from 9 pm - 12 am and will be viewable the next morning.

  • Complete your child’s Magnus Health profile email trtruong@ssis.edu.vn or stop by C-106 8:00-4:00pm Monday-Friday for assistance.

  • Completing Magnus Health ensures the nurses can provide the best care for your child and have all health permission forms on file

  • Notify the Middle School nurse if your child has had any recent illness, injury or surgery

PARENT RESPONSIBILITY PRIOR TO WWW TRIP

  • Complete Medication Authorization form in Magnus Health and provide written prescription from doctor

  • Medication will managed and dispensed by the Nurse

  • Students can carry emergency medications such as an EpiPen when needed

  • Medications must be in the original package labeled with student name, date of birth, medication name, dose, route of administration, expiration date.

Medications not meeting the above requirements WILL NOT BE ADMINISTERED

Medications must be brought to MS health office by November 17, 2025 only supply enough doses for the duration of the trip.

  • DO NOT SEND vitamins, herbs and supplements

MEDICATION POLICY

  • There will be 2 International SOS nurses assigned to each trip to care for students who become ill or injured.

  • Students who present with multiple symptoms such as fever 37.8C, sore throat, body aches, chills, fatigue, or diarrhea and vomiting within 24 hours before departure will be asked to stay home.

  • Parents will need to pick up their child who becomes ill-students with multiple flu like symptoms, fever, diarrhea or vomiting on the trip will be placed in a single occupancy room with a chaperone or nurse until parents arrive to pick them up.
