How can we support Muslims in our school?

  • Muslims might feel tired and hungry, have less energy than usual during Ramadan. This is because they are not eating or drinking all day.
  • Be conscious of eating in front of Muslims who are fasting. Don’t tease them or offer food - The school offers a room for fasting Muslims at lunch.
  • In PE allow fasting muslims to sit out or do lower impact activity if need be.
  • Be understanding that Muslim friends might have less energy than usual during Ramadan.
  • Be encouraging of their choice to follow their tradition.
