Attendance
Attendance/Make-up:
If you are absent (excused or unexcused), falling behind, or need more time to work, you may make arrangements with the teacher during lunch, before or after school to complete work and earn studio time. Students must make-up missed assignments and studio time within two school days of missed day within each hexter.
In accordance to LPS School Board Policy:Excused or unexcused absence — Credit for work missed during excused or unexcused absences shall be given when the required work has been satisfactorily completed. Make-up work following an unexcused absence shall be allowed with the goal of providing the student with an opportunity to keep up with the class and an incentive to attend school. However, the teacher, in their discretion, may give only partial credit, as a consequence for an unexcused absence.

Yearbook THEME
TYPOGRAPHY
the art and technique of arranging type fonts.
Involves the selection of
TYpeface
In typography, a typeface is a set of one or more fonts, in one or more sizes designed with stylistic unity, each comprising a coordinated set of glyphs (strokes).
In other words, it’s a font family: Garamond, EB Garamond, Garamond Condensed.
Font
Historically, font refers to a specific typeface in a specific point size and style.
Example:
Times New Roman Bold 12 point is a single font
Times New Roman 10 point is a different single font
Character
A distinctive mark, any style letter, figure, or symbol used in writing and printing.
Examples: A,(HFD&^IMG?>
Has feet
NO feet
SERIF
Details on the ends of some of the strokes that make up letters
TYPEFACE WITH FEET
Example: ABC
Sans- SERIF
Typeface that does NOT have the small features called “serifs” at the end of the strokes
TYPEFACE WITHOUT FEET
Example: ABC
Pica
A unit of measurement in design that is roughly equivalent to 4.23333333 millimeters. Used in graphic design to separate photos, graphics, and text boxes.
KERNING
Kerning is the spacing between specific pairs of characters.
Kerning is the spacing between individual letters or characters. Unlike tracking, which adjusts the amount of space between the letters of an entire word in equal increments, kerning is focused on how type looks — creating readable text that's visually pleasing.
TRACKING
Tracking is used to change the spacing between ALL characters in a block of text.
LEADING
If kerning and tracking are typography basics to adjust the distance between letters horizontally, then leading is a technique with a function to adjust letters or words vertically.
Leading is the distance between each line of text.
