Important Reminders

  • Please remember to check in and check out your child every day on LineLeader.
  • Child’s profile and contact information must be kept up-to-date on LineLeader. If you have not been receiving any notification or messages from LineLeader, please contact the Office.
  • Update Alternate Pick up information on LineLeader. Parent code should not be shared with alternate pick up.

Schedule Changes

  • Changes to your program during the academic year are not encouraged.
  • Change of Schedule forms should be signed and submitted to the Admissions Coordinator.
  • Any change in adjusting schedule between Full day, School Day or Part-Time needs to be submitted at least two weeks in advance to the Admissions Coordinator.

Withdrawals

  • A withdrawal notice needs to be submitted on or before the 1st of the previous month of the desired withdrawal date.
  • There are no temporary withdrawals during the academic year.

Attendance

  • School hours are from 7:30am to 6:00 pm.
  • The school day program is from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.�The full day program is from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm.�All children must arrive by 8:30 am.
  • Children received between 7:30 am and 8:00am should be dropped off in the G4.
  • A pattern of tardies and absences will be documented on report cards.
  • A call in or message through LineLeader is required to report an absence.
  • We discourage vacations extending more than two weeks during the academic year. Lessons missed by children on vacation will not be provided. Missed classroom presentations will not be revisited by teacher and assignments will not be provided while on vacation. Child will be expected to make up the work upon their return.
  • This year S.A.T. testing will be from March 14th through March 18th.�The classroom curriculum will continue after that until�the end of the school year on June 26th.

Safety

  • Make sure that all gates leading out to the parking lot are completely closed.
  • Sign in with a teacher before dropping off or picking up your child.
  • Between 8:00 am and 8:30 am, children are to be dropped off only on the playground and not in the classroom or in the parking lot.
  • Children being dropped off on the playground must be escorted by an adult.
  • To maintain a peaceful environment and follow best safety practices,�families should not remain in the classroom once the child has been signed out.
  • Elementary students are only permitted to use the Elementary playground
  • Kindergarten students are only permitted to use the Quad playground at specified times
  • The Elementary playground is closed for use after 5:00 pm.
  • Supervision is our first priority. Do not distract teachers with questions or concerns - especially during playground supervision.�Make an appointment or send a message through LineLeader.

Uniforms

  • Uniform policy is strictly enforced during the academic year.�Torn, ripped, stained and dirty uniforms are not acceptable.
  • Uniforms must be labeled with child’s name. (each article of clothing should be labeled)
  • Open-toed/open-heeled shoes, sandals, shoes with wheels/lights, Crocs or cleats are NOT permitted, even if worn with socks. This also applies on Free Dress Days.
  • Shoes must fit child properly for safety of the child.
  • Complete school uniform must be worn Monday to Thursday.�Please refer to our dress code policy for uniform guidelines.
  • Free Dress is on Fridays, non academic periods, special events and child’s birthday.�Free dress must still adhere to the dress code policy.
  • Uniforms are to be worn for school events, even if it is a Free Dress Day.
  • Upper Elementary classes are the only groups expected to wear P.E. Uniforms�and ONLY on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Communication

  • Official school messages and classroom communications are sent through LineLeader or school emails.
  • All illnesses will be reported via phone calls.
  • Staff will inform you of injuries via LineLeader.
    • Please acknowledge receipt of injury notifications via LineLeader within 2 hours or we will attempt to contact you again to confirm you are aware of the injury.
  • Homework assignments, project/report guidelines, due dates, and classroom events are posted on Google Classrooms.

Communication

  • Rainbow Montessori and its staff neither sends nor monitors messages on WhatsApp or other community-based social groups. Any staff member who is a part of such groups is there in a strictly parental capacity. Staff do not represent the school in these forms of social media.
  • WhatsApp and other community-based groups can be a useful tool of communicating with other parents. Should you wish to build and participate in these online communities, please do so outside of the campus.
  • We will not post any signs or hand out information about them in the classrooms on your behalf.
  • It is strictly prohibited for families to have direct contact with our�staff outside of the school environment.

Health

  • Keep your child’s LineLeader profile updated in addition to informing staff regarding health conditions, allergies and necessary medications.
  • Please schedule a staff meeting to discuss the use of critical care medication.�We cannot accept medication not in its original packaging, without a prescription label, or expired. It is important at these meetings to establish a health care plan for your child.
  • School must be notified of any contagious and/or communicable illnesses.
  • Exposure notices will be posted in case of these illnesses - names will not be disclosed.
  • Please keep children home that are showing signs of illness to prevent outbreaks.
  • Sick children must be picked up within the hour of being contacted and may not return�until they are symptom free without medication for 24 hours;�NOT 24 hours from time of pick-up.

Hygiene and Nutrition

  • Basic hygiene must be maintained at all times. This includes, but is not limited to: frequent bathing, daily oral hygiene, nail & hair grooming (avoiding the usage of strong smelling hair products or perfumes), changing uniforms daily, and using deodorants as needed.
  • We are a nut-restricted school. Please avoid sending any meals or snacks that contain nuts, such as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or snacks with nut-based ingredients.

Miscellaneous

  • Extra clothes (including after school program attire) must be labeled and brought in gallon sized Ziploc bags. Spare clothes will be stored in the child’s locker.
  • School provided clothes (available in case of emergencies) need to be returned within 2 days washed and ironed.
  • Parents may not make a left turn out of the parking lot onto Duane Avenue from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
  • For questions or issues regarding the school website or Google Classrooms, please email contact@rainbow-montessori.com with a subject line and a description of the problem.

Your Part in Our School

  • Arrive on time, every day.
  • Send student to school well rested, nourished and prepared each day wearing their school uniform when required.
  • Check Google Classrooms at least once a week for classroom news, assignments, etc.
  • Bring any concerns regarding your child to your teaching team.�In the case of unresolved concerns, contact the Elementary director.
  • Communicate any changes in your child’s schedule, absences, or illnesses with your teaching team, via LineLeader.
  • Please notify your child’s teaching team and the Elementary director directly if there are any major life changes so that we can support your child during this transition.

  • Familiarize yourself with the Parent Handbook and ask questions for clarification.
  • Participate in Back-to-School Night, Parent Conferences,�and school events.
  • Help promote our school by leaving reviews and sharing about us with other families.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

  • Happening Monday, October 14th
    • 15 minute sessions from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
    • In-Person, Virtual & Phone options are available
  • Child care will not be available to children, but they are welcome to attend the conference with their parents/guardians
  • Sign-ups are available starting today outside your child’s classroom

Trunk-or-Treat

  • Happening Thursday, October 31st
    • From 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Families interested in decorating their trunks should arrive at 5:30 pm promptly to be ready for Trick-or-Treaters
