LAS Links Blueprint

What to expect on your test

2 of 13

What is LAS Links?

Every student in the U.S. from Kindergarten through twelfth grade who is identified as an English learner (or multilingual learner) must take a test every year to measure how well they can speak, listen, read, and write in English. In Connecticut, that test is LAS Links.

The test gives a score for each subtest (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) between 1 and 5. In order to be considered proficient in English, and no longer identified as an English learner, a student must score a 4 or higher on reading and writing AND a 4 or higher overall (averaging all four subtests together).

All English learners will have many chances to practice taking the LAS Links test as well as practicing their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills before taking the test in February.
