Two Different Worlds

Which place has more water and shelter for living things?

6 of 9

Water and Shelter Change Everything

Lake Atitlán

Lots of water means fish, frogs, and water birds can live here. The trees give them shelter.

Dry Urban Areas

Less water and fewer trees mean we see pigeons, insects, and dogs. Animals here need to be tough to find food and stay cool.

We learned that every living thing needs water, food, and shelter.

Some places, like Lake Atitlán, have everything a creature needs. Other places are harder to live in. Mapping helps us see who lives where!
