道成肉身

Incarnation exists in world religions. Some worldly religions believe that you can come back as something else. Some believe that what you come back as in your next life is determined by how you lived this life.

I want to tell you these believes although triggering to get people to behave, are indeed false. GOD has created you and specifically you for eternity. Your soul was created by The Creator-GOD to be eternally you. The irony of wordly religions is that you only get one chance to know GOD in this lifetime… As we talked about last time, GOD has been activiley present in history revealing Himself to the world.

Now, this brief study of the Incarnation we understand that HE has made himself known, and will be giving Himself on our behalf. The moment that GOD became a man, the GOD-man. He is the only ONE capable of Incarnation. Putting on the flesh.

Incarnation Webster Definition: “In Flesh”

1. (n.) The act of clothing with flesh, or the state of being so clothed; the act of taking, or being manifested in, a human body and nature.

2. (n.) The union of the second person of the Godhead with manhood in Christ.

JESUS took on an additional nature Humanity. True and sinless humanity in One Person forever.

JOHN 约翰福音 1:1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

1. JESUS is the WORD from the beginning.

Why the WORD? The phrase “word of God” means more than the printed words on a page. God is a communicator and has been speaking into the human realm since the beginning. The ONE Who spoke is the ONE Who is the very fulfillment of the WORD.

In Greek culture and philosophy, the "Word" or Logos (the Greek word translated "word") refers to Jesus being the bridge between the divine/transcendent/supernatural and material/physical/fleshly universe. John used this cultural concept of logos or "word" as a divine reference to introduce Jesus as divine.

[Example] Greek style was to elevate the speaker above the crowd, yet JESUS sat amongst it (Go down and sit with someone in the crowd

1 John 4:1-3

1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. 2. JESUS In The Flesh.

He was born sinless of the virgin Mary. Matthew 1 (Impeccability)

He Has a true body and flesh

He grew and matured from infancy to adulthood.

He took on a human soul and spirit

Why do we need GOD to come in the flesh? Could He not have done it any other way?

JESUS came to give Himself for HIS church.

Life for life, Blood for blood… JESUS was the only ONE worthy and capable. GOD is the righteous Judge… the punishment for sin is death. So in order for the Loving GOD to forgive us, was therefore to give HIS life for the ones who sin.

He came and dwelt among us so we could have forgiveness, eternal life, and all hope for eternity.

One major thing is that we as Christ’s Church need to tell others about JESUS… but how often to we tell ourselves the Gospel? We remind everyone else, but when was the last time we thought greatly about His calling us to Himself?

Philippians 腓立比书 2:5-11

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
