October 8, 2023 (WEEK 47 OF CHURCH FORMATION)
LORD’S DAY WORSHIP
Today, enjoy a deep relationship with God. That is how we rest.
Without it, you are just practicing religion, which Jesus came to denounce.
Praise
Worthy of It All
Worthy of It All
More Like Jesus
You came to the world you created
Trading your crown for a cross
You willingly died
Your innocent life paid the cost
More Like Jesus
Counting your status as nothing,
The King of all kings came to serve
Washing my feet
Covering me with your love
More Like Jesus
If more of You
Means less of me
Take everything
Yes, all of You
Is all I need
Take everything
More Like Jesus
You are my life and my treasure
The one that I can't live without
Here at your feet my desires and dreams, I lay down
Here at your feet my desires and dreams, I lay down
More Like Jesus
If more of You
Means less of me
Take everything
Yes, all of You
Is all I need
Take everything
More Like Jesus
If more of You
Means less of me
Take everything
Yes, all of You
Is all I need
Take everything
More Like Jesus
Oh Lord
Change me like only You can
Here with my hearts in your hands
Father, I pray make me more like Jesus
More Like Jesus
This world
Is dying to know who You are
You've shown us the way to Your heart
Father, I pray make me more like Jesus
More Like Jesus
Oh Lord
Change me like only You can
Here with my hearts in your hands
Father, I pray make me more like Jesus
More Like Jesus
This world
Is dying to know who You are
You've shown us the way to Your heart
Father, I pray make me more like Jesus
More Like Jesus
If more of You
Means less of me
Take everything
Yes, all of You
Is all I need
Take everything

I will trust in ChristEvery step I take

I am sure of your promiseTo guide me each day
Though some may oppose me,I won’t be ashamed
Every Step
Whatever I faceLord, it won’t be in vain
I will trust in ChristEvery step I take
Every Step
For all of my daysI will live for your gloryRunning with courage and faith
The prize of my journey, the joy of salvationTo meet my King face to face
Every Step
So I’m looking to Jesus, perfector of faith
My heart set on heavenWhere treasure awaits
Every Step
I’ll run with enduranceTo finish the race
I will trust in ChristEvery step I take
Every Step
For all of my daysI will live for your gloryRunning with courage and faith
The prize of my journey, the joy of salvationTo meet my King face to face
Every Step
I will, I will rejoice.Whatever comes my wayGod, you’re faithful to save
I will, I will rejoice.I know that God is with me always
Every Step
For all of my daysI will live for your gloryRunning with courage and faith
The prize of my journey, the joy of salvationTo meet my King face to face
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, may Your name be kept holy. May Your Kingdom come soon. May Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.For the Kingdom and all the power and glory belong to You forever and ever. Amen.

Scripture Reading
Philippians 3:5-17
Scripture Reading Principles
Philippians 3:5-17 (NLT)
5I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin—a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law.
Philippians 3:5-17 (NLT)
6I was so zealous that I harshly persecuted the church. And as for righteousness, I obeyed the law without fault. 7I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.
Philippians 3:5-17 (NLT)
8Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ
Philippians 3:5-17 (NLT)
9and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God's way of making us right with himself depends on faith. 10I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death,
Philippians 3:5-17 (NLT)
11so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead! 12I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.
Philippians 3:5-17 (NLT)
13No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Philippians 3:5-17 (NLT)
15Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. 16But we must hold on to the progress we have already made. 17Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example.
Growing Up
Spiritual growth takes steps of faith and many failures. God forgives you every time you fail.He wants you to grow.

3. Encounters God’s loveEverything seems worthless in comparison. Want to grow in a relationship with God. (v. 7)
4. Want Christ, nothing else.Throw away dependence on things of the world. Only want a deeper relationship and trust in God.(v. 8-9)
5. Dependent on God.Have faith in God,not ourselves. (v. 9)
6. Power and Death.Expect the supernatural power of God. Be willing to die for God and others. (v. 10)
