Our Objective
Moonster
The aim of the project is to introduce unique organisms that can cope with some of the extreme conditions -such as disrupted sleep and circadian rythms, extreme gravity and limited supplies - that humans may encounter in space, and to provide information in an instructive way. For that reason, the designs were animated, and a website was set. Because we wanted to introduce organisms in a fun way, we put some animations to our website. Since originality is one of the team’s goals, the designs and animations were made by our animation team. We thought we could get the most reliable information about anything in space from NASA. For that reason, our team used NASA’s research to reach more details about the organisms.
ORGANISMS
Tardigrade | They are the first living species discovered in space. They can live in extremely hard conditions of space and can protect their DNA from varied factors thanks to the protein called "Damage Suppressor" in their bodies. |
E-coli | E. Coli can continue its vital activities even when exposed to a force of 403.627 g. They make this possible by multiplying and clumping. |
Bullfrog | The current information is that “bullfrogs” do not sleep or sleep very little. They just rest throughout the day and gather energy. |
Olm | It performs all of its vital activities underwater. Olm can live for about 10 years without feeding. |
African Elephant | They generally sleep for a total of 2 hours. The African Savannah Elephant has been listed as endangered species by the IUCN since 2021. |
Alpine Swifts | They stay in the air day and night and sleep while flying. They only descend to the ground during the breeding season. While flying, they feed on insects in the air. |
Paracoccus Deniteificans | Paracoccus denitrificans have the ability to live in different environments. It has been found to be resistant to high gravity. |
