OMMS Expectations

• Be Ready, Responsible, and Respectful
• Arrival- 8:20 am bell rings to enter the school. Breakfast is served ‘grab and go’ before students as students enter the building and eaten during Falcon Nest time (8:30-8:35)
• Dismissal- 3:15 bell rings to complete your day
• Bring your laptop fully charged and charger each day!
• Attend class, participate, and ask questions
• Check Canvas assignments daily!

Cell Phones

This is the Howard County Public School System policy:

• Students cannot have their cell phone out in school. This includes lunch and transitions between classes.
• We understand some students have phones. Our school expectation is that phones are away, out of sight, and turned off.
• If your student needs to make a call home, there is a student phone in the office. Parents/guardians should call the school if they need to relay a message.

Reading Interventions

Seminar D is a reading program where students focus on the sounds in the English Language. Students work on improving word decoding, fluency, automaticity, and overall reading skills.

Seminar C is a reading comprehension program. Students will work to improve their reading and writing skills in small group instruction and independent assignments.

Students in GT Research learn both primary and secondary research processes as they work to learn more about an issue they are passionate about.

GT Seminars

Seminars are for ANY and ALL students. They are pullout classes during the regular school day. They offer a chance to learn something new and be exposed to advanced level objectives in a low-pressure environment. Sign ups are optional.
