What is Litter?

• Litter = Bedding material + Bird excreta
• Used in broilers, turkeys, and layers on litter floors
• Functions:
• Absorbs excess moisture
• Dilutes and separates feces from birds
• Provides warmth and insulation
• Encourages natural behaviors (foraging, dustbathing)
