Academic Team

The Academic Team is a fun and fast-paced way to challenge yourself and showcase your knowledge across a variety of subjects. Students work together in quiz-style competitions, testing their quick thinking, teamwork, and recall skills. Whether you love history, science, literature, or pop culture, Academic Team is a place to put your knowledge to the test and have fun doing it.

Southside High School DECA Chapter helps students explore marketing, business, and entrepreneurship through real-world projects and competitions. Members build leadership and teamwork skills while competing at regional, state, and national events, including the International Career Development Conference in Disney. The chapter also gives back through community service and school events. Southside DECA prepares students to “Earn It” in school and beyond.

HOSA

Southside HOSA exists to provide enriching experiences for students who are interested in future careers in the medical, health, and science fields.

HOSA students last year participated in several lunch & learns/demonstrations with healthcare providers, student-driven lab opportunities, a national research competition with NASA (we are 1st place in SC winners!), fundraisers and more- check out pics from last year!

Southside United

The Southside United is an extracurricular club designed to promote friendship and learning tolerance, during and outside of the regular school day between students with disabilities and students without disabilities. The Monitors are looking for students who will remain active throughout the year and will commit to building a positive environment for all students. Members are also expected to actively support and participate in all other events, such as unified field trips, rallies, working with students at all levels including elementary level, and projects to increase student knowledge and understanding of students with disabilities.

Student Council

(STUCO)

Are you interested in planning pep rallies? Buy-outs? Homecoming events? Do you want to improve your leadership skills and work together with other students to create engaging opportunities for your peers? Do you want the opportunity to ensure that your voice is heard by Southside’s administration and the district? Then Student Council is for you!

Students can join STUCO at any point in the year as a member at large. In the spring, we have elections for Student Body positions and class level leadership. Student Council provides an awesome opportunity to make a difference here at Southside.

Tiger Grit

Tiger Grit mentors middle school students as they approach high school. Members will represent Southside High at the middle school level provide information about opportunities to get involved, academics, and athletics. These students require a teacher recommendation to the club, must not have behavioral difficulties, good grades, and be involved in one or more activities at Southside.

TTRPG (Tabletop Role-playing Game) Club is a place where students can play games like Dungeons & Dragons where YOU get to decide what happens in a story with other players! Create characters, roll dice, and have a good time with us!
