  • ��������������√ Welcome the teacher intern by familiarizing the intern with the school building, introducing the intern to the principal and other school personnel, and providing the intern with time to visit and observe throughout the school.��√ Collect a set of curricular materials for the teacher intern and providing the intern with helpful materials such as school bulletins, schedules, class rolls, school handbooks, etc���√ Provide a workspace in the classroom for the teacher intern. please provide a desk, if possible. it is important for the intern to feel like he/she is in a professional role in your classroom.��√ Complete a W-9 form.����

  • �����������√ Prepare the students for the teacher intern��√ Allow the student intern to solo teach for a minimum of three weeks/fifteen consecutive days. ensure that the intern has completed the state minimum of 75 days of internship.��√ Individualize the professional development plan with the teacher intern. ���√ Schedule a time to conference with the teacher intern at least once a week. in addition, impromptu conferences may occur daily depending on the teacher intern’s needs.������

��������������√ Explain methods of keeping attendance, homeroom records, grade and report cards, cumulative folders, and other necessary records. ��√ Meet with the university supervisor on a regular basis (as needed) to discuss the teacher intern’s progress.����√ Assess the teacher intern as to his or her performance on an informal and formal (mid-term and final) basis and sharing these assessments with the teacher intern. ���1����

  • �������������Assess the Teacher Intern’s performance throughout the internship and document that performance for PERB through completing the Analysis of Teaching �����√ Complete a Mid-term and Final evaluation of the teacher intern’s classroom performance in conjunction with the University Supervisor and intern. ����

  • ��������������������√ Inform the principal and the University Supervisor immediately should the teacher intern encounter serious problems.�  ������Note: The Cooperating Teacher is legally responsible for the pupils in the classroom at all times. If a Cooperating Teacher chooses to temporarily leave the classroom, placing the intern in charge, it is imperative that the intern be able to locate the Cooperating Teacher should an emergency arise.����������
