We’re excited to present our watch party app, designed to enhance social interactions through video streaming and communication, allowing users to connect and enjoy content together.

Prerequisites for Building the Watch Party App

Before diving into the development of a watch party app, there are a few key prerequisites that need to be in place: First head to pub.dev search for these dependencies, get the latest version run the command-flutter pub add with these dependencies.

  1. http package: For making network requests, specifically to fetch YouTube videos using the YouTube API.
  2. zego_uikit_prebuilt_call package: This provides the pre-built user interface for video calls using ZEGOCLOUD's real-time communication services.
  3. provider package (optional): Used for state management, ensuring real-time updates for chat, user data, and video calls.
  4. youtube_player_flutter package: Embeds YouTube videos into the app for video streaming during watch parties.
  5. firebase_core & cloud_firestore packages: These Firebase dependencies enable real-time chat by connecting to Firestore
