  • Rise of the Internet and Open Access (Late 20th century) New opportunities for sharing information. Open access movement emerged, advocating free and unrestricted access to scholarly publications.

  • FAIR Principles (2014) FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) principles guide the management of research data, emphasizing the importance of making data more open and accessible.
  • Open science reflects a broader cultural shift toward openness, collaboration, and transparency in the scientific community, driven by the recognition that these principles contribute to the advancement of knowledge and innovation.
