A Prayer from the Week

Each week over the morning announcements, students from a designated class lead the school in prayer, at times sharing scripture readings or other forms of reflection. We hope to share one of the prayers from the week in the Friday Flash to extend the opportunity for reflection and discussion at home.

For this week, we offer this prayer as we start a new school year:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

God of wisdom and might,

We praise you for the wonder of our being, for mind, body and spirit.

Be with our children as they begin a new school year.

Bless them, their teachers and staff.

Give them strength and grace as their bodies grow; wisdom and knowledge to their minds as they search for understanding; and peace and zeal to their hearts.

We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

St. John, pray for us.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
