2 of 19

Lack of education and social awareness in many young girls were leading to human trafficking, child marriages, and compromised lives.

Seva Bharathi recognizes that access to education is a crucial factor in escaping these situations. Hence a program "Kishori Vikas" started in 2005 with a few girls, is now a program of 7257 girls focusing on adolescent girls’ upbringing in the slums by educating and providing them vocational training besides informing them about the importance of hygiene, and health.

EDUCATION

80% girls of the Kishori Vikas program goes to Government schools, and they need a helping hand in making them understand subjects and drill down to the topics taught in their school.

The volunteers continuously support them by clarifying doubts on a daily basis and also assess them by conducting tests and ensuring their learning curve is steadily growing. Special sessions are organised for 10th Class students to make sure they successfully get through the board exam.

Nurturing Skills

Along with education, we are focused on nurturing students skills such as Drawing, Painting, Singing, Meditation, Yoga, Dancing, behavioral skills, personality development skills.

The volunteer guides girls by providing tips on performing better and providing required resources (stationery, special training, and other avenues) to achieve and become mastery of that skill.

Today, several girls performed at the state-level competitions under Painting, Drawing, Dancing and won several accolades which gives satisfaction to the volunteer and the overall program.
