KISHORI VIKAS PROJECT REPORT
Adolescent Girl Child Empowerment Program
|
Lack of education and social awareness in many young girls were leading to human trafficking, child marriages, and compromised lives.
Seva Bharathi recognizes that access to education is a crucial factor in escaping these situations. Hence a program "Kishori Vikas" started in 2005 with a few girls, is now a program of 7257 girls focusing on adolescent girls’ upbringing in the slums by educating and providing them vocational training besides informing them about the importance of hygiene, and health.

Around 3000 volunteers and 300 doctors were involved in this 24/7 project run for several months during the pandemic.
EDUCATION
80% girls of the Kishori Vikas program goes to Government schools, and they need a helping hand in making them understand subjects and drill down to the topics taught in their school.
The volunteers continuously support them by clarifying doubts on a daily basis and also assess them by conducting tests and ensuring their learning curve is steadily growing. Special sessions are organised for 10th Class students to make sure they successfully get through the board exam.

Nurturing Skills
