Our History and Purpose

  • Asha-Jyothi, started in 2003, is a Chantilly based non-profit organization, founded by Sekhar Puli with a primary goal to serve the needs of the underprivileged by providing access to Education and Healthcare. 
    • Started with education of 30 students, and today we educate ~7000 kids in India
    • Provide free medicines, frequent medical checkups to the elderly in remote villages
  • 100% volunteer run organization
  • 100% of net benefits of your donation goes to the cause, no overheads

Our Work

  • Educating ~7000 kids in remote parts of India
  • Provide(d) books, benches, shoes, school uniforms, nutritious meal, sports equipment, bicycles, boats for commute, toilets for girls, water hand pumps, orphanages for child beggars

Our Work During Pandemic

  • Donated $475,000 worth of PPE equipment, supplies, medicines for COVID -19 relief

    • 3 Oxygen Plants
    • 300 Oxygen Concentrators (OCs) in 30 cities/towns
    • 100+ COVID relief medicinal kits home delivered to patients
    • 500+ Medical Supplies/Equipment

Our Partnership with Local schools

  • FCPS Foundation partnership to provide Back to school Supplies and Weekend Meals to Kids on assistance at Mosby Woods Elementary
  • 2019 College prep help for underprivileged students at Broad Run HS
  • Funding for Makerspace at Brookfield Elementary school
  • Rise against hunger in the US to provide meals to children in need around the world, also participated in packing food for them.
  • Financial assistance to Student and Children’s Advocacy Center Detroit, The Children’s Center Detroit
  • After 10 years of tireless efforts in India, we wanted to do more and give back to make a difference in the local communities in US which shaped us and the lives of our children

Our Partnership : Larger Vision

  • Educate-Innovate Campaign: A multi-million $ private donation that aims to bridge STEM/STEAM needs in local schools by building Innovation Labs, Maker Space facilities and Technology enhancements in local public schools
  • AJ will grant an Innovation lab for one High School each year. In addition, Makerspaces in Elementary Schools and a Technology refresh in Middle schools that feed into the selected High School. This is to foster an ecosystem of early adopters and innovators.
  • This campaign builds on AJ’s core belief of uplifting the underprivileged by providing access to education and healthcare, and takes it to the next level by empowering next generation of innovators by providing them access to state of the art technology.
  • All schools that participate in the 5K Run qualify to apply for the grant

Our Partnership and Local Impact

  • Chantilly High School teachers and kids used the innovation Lab 3D printers to make face visors for doctors at Howard University Hospital, DC
  • Doctors and Healthcare workers were in dire need of PPE as the COVID19 numbers were on the rise
