Grades - How to Understand Each of Your Classes

Here, you can see how students are graded in each class (& how they are doing).

  • Long term learning targets
  • Individual assignments
  • Attendance information

There’s also historical information:

  • Previous report cards (starting now -- there’s no Engrade data in Pupil Path)
  • 3rd-8th grade ELA/math/science state test scores
  • Regents exams
  • High school transcripts

22 of 51

Under “Class Performance” you can select a class to look at all the assignments for the semester, check student attendance, and see what level of mastery they’re at for each Long-Term Learning Target.

Choose the class you want to see from the drop-down menu.

23 of 51

If you scroll down, you’ll see a breakdown of how studentshave done on all of their assignments and your overall Attendance.

This chart will turn increasingly yellow, green, and blue as students complete work and make progress over time.

This chart should be almost entirely Green (Present). If students are often late or absent from class, then they need to develop better Habits of Scholarship!

24 of 51

If you keep scrolling down, you can see every assignment in the class(along with the Long-Term Learning Target that it belongs to).

For example, these two assignments are under the Long Term Learning Target: “I can simplify expressions involving numbers and variables.”

25 of 51

At the bottom of each class page, you can see how teachers have weighted each of the Long Term Learning Targets. For academic classes, Habits of Scholarship will always be 20% of the total grade. The other Long Term Learning Targets will make up the other 80%.

LT #3 is worth 30% of the final grade. It must be a really important concept / skill to master!

26 of 51

Under “Report Cards” you’ll be able to look up past report cards.

27 of 51

UG students only - under “Transcripts” you can see progress towards HS graduation - it can show you credits earned by subject or by year

28 of 51

Under “Exams” you can find a record of 3rd-8th gradestate test and/or Regents results (if students took them).

Regents:

This will show the score your student has earned on the ELA Regents. If they took it more than once, only their highest score will be shown here.

Another way to keep track of the required credits your student needs to graduate.

This breaks them down by specific areas, and tells you which areas your student may be deficient in.

Compare the Credits Earned with the Credits Required.

Transfer School Tracker:

This will only be used if your student is planning to transfer to another school at some point during their high school career, whether out of state or in NYC.
