What is anxiety?

  • A feeling of nervousness, uneasiness, restlessness, uncertainty or dread.
  • Causes are often from the somatic.
  • Environmental factors should be considered.
  • If it gets out of control, it can interfere with your daily life.
  • We can learn how to recognize and control it.

Characteristics of Anxiety

Physical:

  • Shakiness
  • Stomach Pain
  • Sweating
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Heart beating fast
  • Headaches
  • Crying
  • Trouble Sleeping

Emotional:

  • Irritable
  • Lots of thoughts
  • Tense
  • Mind goes blank
  • Fears

  • Mediation
  • Journaling
  • Exercise
  • Know your triggers
  • Eat well
  • Get sunshine, vitamin D
  • Deep breathing
  • Therapy
  • Develop your own strategies
