The Problem

    • People might need an artist to design an illustrative product for their company, but not know where to start looking.
    • Some might post job openings on Indeed or LinkedIn, but that causes companies to depend on people to apply for their jobs.
    • It could take a long time for companies to find the right candidate, and this format makes it even more harder to shift through their portfolios to see if they like the art or not.
    • The formal hiring process takes time, energy, and resources, which might not end up well if the person isn’t a good match for long term or sudden work.

The Market

  • The primary market the startup is after is the Entertainment industry.
  • This industry spans a wide range of different clients; individual or company.
  • Some might be single individuals looking for personal artwork to use and enjoy as a desktop wallpaper, hung up on a wall, or to use for smaller commercial endeavors like self-publishing or streaming.
  • Another client includes other startup companies or even larger industries.
  • Those types of industries include smaller indie game companies, or big name companies like Activision Blizzard, or Webtoons, etc.

Why is this a good product?

  • Essentially, the company is based off of freelancing a service. In this case, the service is getting customized artwork based off of the customer’s vision.
  • The website allows a potential customer to browse through a portfolio in an accessible and efficient way and browse through different styles they would prefer.
  • It eliminates having to go through a middle-man to hire artists and allows multiple iterations for more potential ideas and creativity.
  • Also eliminates the need for companies to buy their own office space and hardware.

Why is this a good product part 2.

  • Since its a company operated by only one, or a few people, it is easier to communicate directly with the artist to get something unique/customized.
  • Variety of different styles and designs to choose from depending on the needs of the client.
  • Can either do long term or short term work on contract-basiswithout going through the hurdles of applying for officialpositions.
  • Higher quality work: The artist(s) work represent the freelance company. They are determined to provide the best and have more flexible/faster turnaround time for potential repeat business.

How will it solve the identified problem?

  • Flexibility to hire artists on-demand for sudden projects that in-house artists cannot fulfill.
  • Freelancing saves more money than hiring an official employee that works on a salary or fixed rate. Most products have one-off costs and fees.
  • Less risk = Can either do long term or short term work on contract-basiswithout going through the hurdles of applying for official positions.
  • It eliminates having to go through a middle-man to hire artists.

  • Right now we are using Weebly to host our website which is a free cloud web hosting service.
  • We planned that as our purchases increases we will have a local server which will have a web hosting apache system to host our website so it can hold the load of more users.
  • At that time we also planned to have mysql database on our local server to ensure the data security.
  • This will also ensure the servers stability and its down time.

  • Estimated sales numbers
  • What are your estimated sales numbers?

For our estimated sales in the next 5 years:

    • Our consertive to high estimate is about $5,000-15,000 per year
    • That would make our 5 year sales amount $25,000- $75,000 in total
    • Realistically this what we think is the most likely sales amount because of how difficult it is to start out as an small digital art commission company.

Legal Environment

  • Addressing the legal environment
    • As this is business sells digital art commissions, almost all children of all will be able to freely access all the websites content.
    • Laws of other countries where you plan to offer the Product/Services
      • Copyright Laws: In the UK and other western European countries we are allowed to automatically copy the art commissions made for free, thus protecting the content of the artist and the person purchasing the commission.
      • Business License: To sell art commissions all over the world, we would probably need a digital license that eligible for all countries that require it.
