و في تلك الايام اذ تكاثر التلاميذ حدث تذمر من اليونانيين على العبرانيين ان اراملهم كن يغفل عنهن في الخدمة اليومية. فدعا الاثنا عشر جمهور التلاميذ و قالوا لا يرضي ان نترك نحن كلمة الله و نخدم موائد.
Now in those days, when [the number of] the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, "It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables.
فانتخبوا ايها الاخوة سبعة رجال منكم مشهودا لهم و مملوين من الروح القدس و حكمة فنقيمهم على هذه الحاجة. و اما نحن فنواظب على الصلاة و خدمة الكلمة. فحسن هذا القول امام كل الجمهور فاختاروا استفانوس
"Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of [good] reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; "but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word". And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen,

رجلا مملوا من الايمان و الروح القدس و فيلبس و بروخورس و نيكانور و تيمون و برميناس و نيقولاوس دخيلا انطاكيا. (اع 6 : 1 – 5)
a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch (Act 6 : 1 – 5)

و اما استفانوس فاذ كان مملوا ايمانا و قوة كان يصنع عجائب و ايات عظيمة في الشعب. (اع 6 : 8)
And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people. (Act 6 : 8)

Difficulties of Evangelism
فنهض قوم من المجمع الذي يقال له مجمع الليبرتينيين و القيروانيين و الاسكندريين و من الذين من كيليكية و اسيا يحاورون استفانوس. و لم يقدروا ان يقاوموا الحكمة و الروح الذي كان يتكلم به. حينئذ دسوا لرجال يقولون اننا سمعناه يتكلم بكلام تجديف على موسى و على الله.
Then there arose some from what is called the Synagogue of the Freedmen (Cyrenians, Alexandrians, and those from Cilicia and Asia), disputing with Stephen. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke. Then they secretly induced men to say, "We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God".
و هيجوا الشعب و الشيوخ و الكتبة فقاموا و خطفوه و اتوا به الى المجمع. و اقاموا شهودا كذبة يقولون هذا الرجل لا يفتر عن ان يتكلم كلاما تجديفا ضد هذا الموضع المقدس و الناموس. (اع 6 : 9 - 13)
And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; and they came upon [him,] seized him, and brought [him] to the council. They also set up false witnesses who said, "This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place and the law (Act 6 : 9 - 13)

لاننا سمعناه يقول ان يسوع الناصري هذا سينقض هذا الموضع و يغير العوائد التي سلمنا اياها موسى. فشخص اليه جميع الجالسين في المجمع و راوا وجهه كانه وجه ملاك (اع 6 : 14 - 15)
"for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses delivered to us". And all who sat in the council, looking steadfastly at him, saw his face as the face of an angel (Act 6 : 14 - 15)

يا قساة الرقاب وغير المختونين بالقلوب والاذان انتم دائما تقاومون الروح القدس كما كان اباؤكم كذلك انتم. اي الانبياء لم يضطهده اباؤكم وقد قتلوا الذين سبقوا فانباوا بمجيء البار الذي انتم الان صرتم مسلميه وقاتليه. الذين اخذتم الناموس بترتيب ملائكة ولم تحفظوه (اع7: 51-53)
" You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. "Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers,. "who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it". (Act7:51-53)
كيف كانت شهادة استفانوس
شخص الى السماء
Gazed into heaven
فلما سمعوا هذا حنقوا بقلوبهم و صروا باسنانهم عليه. و اما هو فشخص الى السماء و هو ممتلئ من الروح القدس فراى مجد الله و يسوع قائما عن يمين الله. فقال ها انا انظر السماوات مفتوحة و ابن الانسان قائما عن يمين الله. (اع 7 : 54 – 56)
When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with [their] teeth. But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,. and said, "Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!". (Act 7 : 54 – 56)

فصاحوا بصوت عظيم و سدوا اذانهم و هجموا عليه بنفس واحدة. و اخرجوه خارج المدينة و رجموه و الشهود خلعوا ثيابهم عند رجلي شاب يقال له شاول. (اع 7 : 57 – 58)
Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; and they cast [him] out of the city and stoned [him] And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. (Act 7 : 57 – 58)
وحشية وهمجية

هل توقع النجاة؟ أم الموت؟
Did he expect to survive? Or to die?
هل ندم على أي كلمة؟؟ هل خاف على الرسل؟!
Did he regret any word?
Did he get scared about the apostles ?!

What was he thinking of when they casted him out of the city

Prayer of the martyr
فكانوا يرجمون استفانوس و هو يدعو و يقول ايها الرب يسوع اقبل روحي. ثم جثا على ركبتيه و صرخ بصوت عظيم يا رب لا تقم لهم هذه الخطية و اذ قال هذا رقد (اع 7 : 59 – 60)
And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on [God] and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit". Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not charge them with this sin" And when he had said this, he fell asleep (Act 7 : 59 – 60)
