Junior Killer Whales (new in 2026!)

  • Who It's For:
    • Swimmers who are comfortable in the water but new to swim team and need some extra practice to be ready to participate in team meets.
    • Generally kids 10 and under, but placement is based on ability not age.
  • What to Expect:
    • Short practices (first 30 minutes of the 10&u practice slot!) from June 1 through July 16.
    • Coaches are experienced Killer Whales veterans and trained lifeguards who are often in the water right alongside your child, focusing on freestyle and at least one additional stroke.
  • A Welcoming Environment:
    • Junior Killer Whales Parent Meeting before your child's first practice where you can ask any questions.
    • Part of the team in all respects, but won’t compete in a meet until coaches feel they are ready
  • When the coaches think they are ready:
    • Junior Killer Whales can “graduate” to the main team and be invited to swim at a Saturday dual meet based on coach assessment at any point during the season.
    • We are also tentatively planning a special mini-meet for all Junior Killer Whales, scheduled for the last evening practice on Thursday, July 16.
