Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Do I need to be TB cleared in the virtual classrooms?TB test is NOT required for volunteering in a virtual classroom!

* If volunteers help in instructional-related activities in the virtual classroom, they still have to get Level III volunteer clearance. (Submit diploma or transcripts to Michelle Lo, and she will request the clearance from the District) Due to the epidemic, the District would like to check on everyone's TB status, that's why the SCC is informing returning volunteers if their TB is expired or about to be expired. Since the campus is currently closed, Michelle has been telling all these volunteers to make sure they provide an up-to-date TB clearance result BEFORE they volunteer on campus again. *TB test result only valid for 4 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • If I don't volunteer this year, will I have to do the background clearance again next year? The School district no longer requires returning volunteers to have volunteered at least one hour during the previous school year. Volunteers who do not renew their volunteer status for 3 school years will be required to re-apply as a new volunteer, meaning they need a background check and fingerprint again. That's why the SCC usually asks the parent to renew their status every school year.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I log my volunteer hours?

If you’re volunteering with the school or your child’s teacher, the school and district does not require tracking of volunteer hours during the distance learning period. When we return to campus, volunteers can once again log their hours on the log book at the front office.

If you are volunteering with the PTA, PTA will provide instructions on how to log volunteer hours.
