  • Sometimes innovation is using best practices in a new context

  • Use a standard template, if not provided, with standard categories: Personnel/Fringe, Consultants, Travel, Other Direct Costs, Indirect Costs
  • Align budget and project narrative
  • Budget reflects proposed activities
  • Budget is clear and understandable
