Murals

A mural is a painting or other work directly executed on a wall such that it becomes an integral part of the wall or surface.

  • To make a mural that helps us tell our story and process shared experiences as a community.

Objectives

  • Understand the ideas behind murals in the video.
  • Respond to it.
  • Draw and color our own mural ideas on a paper format.
  • Choose student mural ideas that best tell our story.
  • Paint the chosen mural ideas on walls in our community.

  • Mural concept sketch and mural painting art lesson

Instructions:

  • Make a detailed sketch that tells a community story which can be further developed into a mural.
  • Use crayons and/or markers to render the sketch in color
  • Chosen mural(s) artwork(s) will be reproduced on a wall through group work effort
  • Detailed lesson plan.
