Meaning of Phrasal Verbs
A phrasal verb is a group of one main verb along with one or more adverbs or prepositions.
Ex. Call at = to visit
I called at my friend at his home.
One or more adverbs or prepositions often a special meaning to the main verb.

1 Account for = give a good reason
Ex. You must account for not doing home work.
2. Ask in = invite somebody into the house.
Ex. I asked the guest in and offered him a cup of tea.
3. Be for = be in favour of
Ex. My mother is always for girl’s education.
4. Call off = cancel something
Ex. We called off the tour to Kashmir

5. Call On = Visit a person, ask someone to do something.
Ex. The Prime minister called on the president yesterday
6. Give up = to stop
Ex. They gave up the idea to beat animals.
7. Run out = finish
Ex. We have run out of milk.
