General Rules

  • Overall (BULK) registration for colleges: Rs.5500 (except for Western Electric -Muse Jam and Fashion Show - Muse Hues, Hunger games, Gaming) Colleges must register under this category to be considered for the overall cultural winners.
  • All colleges wishing to register for the overalls should contact the Cultural Secretary, Jethin Mathew Joseph (Mobile no: 9483359745).
  • Registration for Muse Jam (Western electric) and Muse Hues (Fashion Show) will be charged separately. Each college can put up a maximum of 2 teams.
  • The Cultural Secretary/Group Leader of each College team must collect the participation passes from St. John’s Medical College must submit the list of participants at the registration desk.
  • For all Main & Side Stage Events- Colleges can send 1 team per event with Overall (Bulk) Registration. Colleges wishing to put up more teams will have to pay the extra registration fee per team for that event.

  • Unlimited entries are allowed for Off stage events who have registered for overalls.
  • Individual registration fee for other events are applicable for colleges not registering for overalls.
  • All teams must be present half an hour before the start of a main stage event for draw of slots. Teams missing the slots or not present on time will be disqualified or placed at a slot as per the discretion of the Organizing Committee.
  • Decision of the Judges is final and binding and no questions or clarifications regarding the judgement will be entertained under any circumstance.
  • The criteria for events given in this rulebook are subject to change depending on the judge’s say; the criteria given in this rulebook are meant to give the contestants an idea of the proceedings.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, change the venue of any event and the same will be informed to the cultural secretaries/group leaders.
  • Organizing committee reserves the right to close registration when all slots are taken.

  • Team Size: A minimum of 4 and maximum of 15 members per team; at least 1 vocalist and 3 different instruments required (different guitars to be counted individually), including one percussion instrument compulsorily.
  • Time limit of 20+5 minutes empty-stage to empty-stage.
  • All Indian languages allowed.
  • Albums/movie songs/own compositions allowed.
  • Categories of participation: Solo, Duet and Group.
  • Teams must fulfil all the 3 categories.
  • Synthesized beats are not allowed. No chorus (backing vocals) allowed for solo and duet category.
  • Standard 5-piece drum kit, microphones and amplifiers to support an 8-member band will be provided. All other instruments must be brought by the participants themselves.
  • Participants must participate in all three categories to be placed.
  • Original Compositions are allowed and appreciated, but not compulsory.

PERSONALITY

  • The event will comprise of two rounds; a written round, participants will be a given set of questions to answer about themselves, and based on the creativity, wittiness and originality of the answers, the top 10 participants will move on to the next round.
  • The next round will be an on-stage round, wherein the judging panel will ask the finalists questions as well as ask them to perform tasks that will showcase their creativity, confidence and personality.

SLAM POETRY

  • This is an individual event.
  • Maximum participants per batch: 4
  • Each poet is given 3 minutes to perform an original piece of poetry that is composed by the speaker. The topic will be disclosed one day prior to the event.
  • Participants are not allowed to use costumes, props or musical accompaniment.
  • Poetry is not required to follow any particular rhyme scheme. Any style of poetry is permitted.
  • The top 5 poets will be selected for the final round, where the topic will be disclosed on the spot by the slam masters, followed by 10 minutes for the poet to prepare. The poet will then have 3 minutes to perform again.
  • Plagiarism is prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification.

General Rules

Cricket Rules

- The tournament will be held on a league basis.

- Matches will be 15 overs a side, only one bowler can bowl 4 overs and others a maximum of 3 overs.

- only one staff member of the college can be included in the team.

- All the matches will be played as per KSCA rules.

- Teams should be in proper cricketing attire ( white shirt, white trousers and cricketing shoes).

- All the no balls called during the game will be followed by a free hit.

- A maximum of one bouncer can be bowled in an over.

- 5 overs field restrictions in a 15-over match.

- Teams should carry their own cricket kits, the match ball will be provided during the start of the game.

- Teams should report 30 minutes prior the scheduled time of play.

- During in field restrictions, max. of two players can be outside the 30 yard circle.

- If the match cannot be played in unavoidable conditions then a super over will decide the match.

Umpires decisions are final and appeals by the team players/ coach are not entertained.

-If there is a slow over rate ( 65 minutes for 15 overs/ 85 minutes for 20 overs), then a penalty of 10 runs per over will be applicable.

- If the match is interrupted and if further play is not possible ( min. 5 overs a side) results will be based on run rate of the completed overs.

- In case of a tie, super over will decide the match and in case of a tie in super over, the winner will be decided by counting the total number of boundaries scored by the whole team in both the main match and super over.

- The team should play in the right spirit.

- The ball should not be tampered and should be given to the umpires during the mid-over gaps.

- Team captain should be the only one consulting the referee in case of doubts.

2)Matches will be played on a League cum knockout/League/Knockout basis depending upon the discretion of the Tournament Committee.

3)A maximum of 15 players are allowed per team

4)Players will be required to come 30 minutes before their scheduled match

5)Only Students of the college are allowed to participate -UGs and PG

6)Walk over will be given if the team does not arrive within 15 minutes of scheduled time

7) maximum of two teams per college. One player will not be allowed to play for more than one team.

  • The Tournament Committee's decision will be final and binding.
  • The fixtures committee decides the fixtures, venues and timings.
  • The event is subject to cancellation if there are shortage of teams.
  • Matches will be played on a League cum knockout/League/Knockout basis depending upon the discretion of the Tournament Committee.
  • Under unforeseen circumstances, the Fixtures Committee can make changes in the venue and timings.
  • The team will be informed of such changes in advance.
  • The fixtures for the next day's matches will be put up on the notice board the previous night itself. It is the duty of the Manager/Captain of the team to get the fixture or the intimation slip from the sports desk at the reception.
  • Once the fixtures are drawn, no request for changes shall be entertained whatsoever.

  • If the match is interrupted due to unavoidable circumstances, the rest of the game will be continued at suitable time fixed by the Organizers.
  • Referee's decision will be final. No appeals questioning their validity will be entertained.
  • Teams are requested to report 30 minutes before the start of the match at the allotted venues.
  • A walkover will be awarded to the opposition if a team fails to arrive at the venue within 15 minutes of the scheduled start of the match.
  • Any team giving a walkover will be disqualified from participating further in that event.
  • Only the Captain of the team is entitled to communicate with the Fixture Committee.
  • All grievances and disputes should be submitted in writing to the sports council accompanied by a sum of Rs. 500 /- and duly signed by the Physical Director/Manager of the team, and the same will be forwarded to the Tournament Committee.

  • All such applications will be accepted only within 30 minutes of the end of the match. If the complaint is valid (as decided by the tournament committee) the sum shall be refunded.
  • Unruly behaviour, either by the team members or its supporters shall mean disqualification from the tournament.
  • All the participants are requested to cooperate for the smooth conduct of the tournament.
