About myself

  • Chemical department of the Kazakh National University
  • 11 years - in the Kazakh Research Cancer Institute
  • PhD in biology on “Oncology”
  • 6 years with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan
  • 20 years with the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC)
  • From 2000 to 2005 – member of the Bureau of the UNECE Aarhus convention
  • From 2005 to 2022 – UNECE expert on ESD, member of various UNECE expert and working groups on ESD
  • 12 years – from 2010 to 2022 – manager of 12 Central Asian Leadership Programs in CAREC
  • Now – Expert on ESD and Youth Leadership

Alumni of the CALP

  • Throughout 12 years of its successful operation (from 2010 to 2022), CALP Alumni network grew by 370 young people representing state environmental, water and energy sectors, NGOs, universities, and green businesses of five CA states and Afghanistan.
  • Many of the CALP alumni with their high qualifications and skills for SD receive promotion in their ministries, agencies and NGOs.

Key achievements in 2022: Youth Statement at the COP-27

  • This initiative on facilitation of the Regional Dialogue of the Central Asian Youth to develop a Regional Statement on Climate Change issues for submission to the UNFCCC COP-27 was aimed at forming a convincing and strong regional voice of the Central Asian Youth.
  • The outcome was a jointly developed Regional Youth Statement on a climate resilient future, which was delivered by CALP graduate at the COP27 events.
