Mobile application that allows you to learn about your surroundings using historic images and information

Why phWarp?

*example of our paper prototype in downtown berkeley

We wanted to make an application that allows tour guides, travelers, urban explorers, tour guides and history buffs and those curious about their surroundings to gain a greater appreciation for what what surrounds them by being able to view historical photos and information

The Concept

-Saw this after we came up with this concept at a TED talk

- Our app builds on top of this by adding in the user’s actual location, so there’s real context here instead of looking at it on a computer.

It's being able to view historical images and information based on your location (instead of just looking at a remote place from your computer)

Key Features

Key Features:

You can do this by:

1) Comparing....
a) current pictures with historic pictures
b) current historic photos with other historic photos
2) Getting real-time historic factual information about the transformation of a location
3) Assembling/curating a set of previously visited places in order for you to share and view with friends

-Wanted it to be easy enough for a non smart phone user to operate (tested this)
