SILENT FEATURES OF EDUCATION CODE

All activities of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan are governed by a set of rules contained in two books namely education code and accounts code.

  • Education code for Kendriya Vidyalaya serves the purpose of a guide and ready reference in the daily working of kendriya Vidyalaya.
  • It helps the Principal to ensure the implementation of various policies of the sangathan in letter and spirit.

CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Every teacher shall, by precept and example instill in the minds of the pupils, entrusted to his care, love for the motherland.
  • Every teacher shall, by precept and example, inculcate in the minds of his pupils respect for law and order.
  • Every teacher shall take a stand against unhealthy and bad customs and practices in modern society and must strive his best to instill in the minds of his pupils the principles of cooperation and social service.
  • Every teacher shall cooperate with and secure the cooperation of other persons in all activities which aim at the improvement of the moral, mental and physical well beings of pupils.

  • Every teacher shall be strictly impartial in his relations with all his pupils. He shall be sympathetic and helpful particularly to the slow learners.
  • Every teacher shall be temperate and sober in his habits. He shall scrupulously avoid smoking, chewing of betel leaves and such other undesirable habits in the presence of students and within the precincts of the vidyalaya.
  • Every teacher shall have an exemplary moral character. His dealing with the members of the opposite sex in the vidyalaya or outside shall not be such as would cause reflection on his character or bring discredit to the vidyalaya.

  • No teacher shall indulge in or encourage any form of malpractice connected with examinations or other school activities.
  • Confidential matters relating to the institutions and the department shall not be divulged by any teacher.
  • No teacher shall undertake private tuition or private employment or otherwise engage himself in any business.
  • Every teacher shall be clean and trim. He shall not be casual and informal, while on duty. His dress shall be neat and dignified. He shall on no account be dressed so as to become an object of excitement or ridicule or pity at the hands of students and colleagues.

  • 21.Every teacher shall be punctual in attendance in respect of his class work as also for any other work connected with the duties assigned to him by the principal. He shall realize that he is a member of the team and shall help in developing a corporate life in the school.
  • 22.Every teacher shall abide by the rules and regulations of the vidyalaya and show due respect to the constituted authority, diligently carrying out instructions issued to him by the superior authority.

  • No teacher shall apply for an assignment or job outside the sangathan directly. He shall in variably forward his application through proper channel.
  • No teacher shall present his grievances, if any, except through proper channel, nor will he canvass for any non-official or outside influence or support in the respect of any matter pertaining to his service in the vidyalaya.
  • No teacher shall accept or permit any member of his family or any other person acting on his behalf to accept any gift from any pupil, parent or any person with whom he has come into contact by virtue of his position in the vidyalaya except as provided under rule 13 of the CCS (conduct) rules, 1964.

  • a)Every teacher shall at all times i) maintain absolute integrity. Ii) Maintain devotion to duty. Iii)do nothing which is unbecoming of an employee of sangathan b) nothing contained in part (a) of this article shall be deemed to take away or abridge the right of a teacher
  • i)to appear at any examination to improve his qualifications; ii)to become or to continue to a member of any literary, scientific or professional organization; iii)to make any representation for the redressal of any bonafide grievances, subject to the condition that such representation is not made in any or indecorous language

Primary Teacher

  • Senior Secondary(XII) with 50% marks

JBT after Senior Secondary (Class XII).

  •  Pass in Central Teacher Eligibility Test of CBSE.
  • Competence to teach through Hindi and English Media.

PGT Computer Science :

  • Atleast 50% marks in aggregate in any of the following i) BE or B.Tech (Computer Science/IT) from a recognized University or an equivalent Degree or Diploma from an institution/university recognized by the Govt.

OR

  • BE or B.Tech (any stream) & PG Dip in Computer from any recognized University OR
  • MSC(Com. Science)/MCA or Equivalent OR B.Sc.(Computer Science)/BCA or Equivalent & PG degree in any subject OR PG Dip. In Computer & PG degree in any subject OR ‘A’ Level from DOEADC & PG degree in any subject OR
  • B or C Level from, DOEACC Min. of Information & Communication Technology.
  • Proficiency in teaching in Hindi & English

  • Two year’s Integrated PG M.Sc., Course of Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject; or Master’s Degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the following subjects:

  • PGT(Maths)- Mathematics/Applied Maths
  • PGT(Physics) Physics/Electronics/Applied Physics/Nuclear Physics
  • PGT(Chemistry)-Chemistry/Bio Chem.
  • PGT(Biology)- Botany/zoology/Life Sciences/Bio Sciences/Genetics/Micro Biology/Bio Technology/Molecular Bio/Plant Physiology provided they have studied Botany and Zoology at Graduation level.

  • PGT(Commerce)- Commerce with Accountancy/Cost Accounting/Financial Accountancy as a major subject of study. Holder of Degrees of M.Com in Applied/Business Economics shall not be eligible.
  • PGT(Economics)- Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics

AND

  • B.Ed., or equivalent qualification from recognized University.
  • Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English

  • Four year’s integrated degree course of Regional Colleges of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate. OR
  • Bachelor degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject(s) and in aggregate including electives and languages in the combination of subjects as under: 
  • TGT (Sanskrit)- Bachelor degree in Sanskrit as a subject in all 3 years. 
  • TGT (English) – Bachelor degree in English as a subject in all 3 years.

  • TGT(Maths) – Bachelor degree in Maths as a subject with any two of: Physics, Chemistry, Electronics , Computer Science, Statistics.
