First Person View Self Driving Car Presentation - Week of 7/27/23

Software Reboot

  • Cleared SD Card.
  • Rebooted the Pi as the software was missing many different necessary libraries and was at times refusing to connect to the terminal.
  • Reinstalled packages from scratch, updated an older version of Raspberry Pi to the newest version, and downloaded necessary libraries including Opencv and libatlas.

Code Debugging

  • Able to install many of the necessary libraries, but continuously running into problems with camera connectivity
  • Current error connection issue: OSError: [Errno 99] Cannot assign requested address
  • Tried to enter variety of IP addresses, troubleshooting by isolating parts of the code
  • Still working on trying to fix error

Next Week’s Plans

  • Be able to resolve the code issues and have the car actually moving.
  • Attach the 3D printed part to cover the motor and case the camera.
  • Modify the code to include the servos motor to turn the camera.
  • If time permits, design a basic website to eventually show our final product.
