Part 1: Birth’s of John and Jesus

  • Chapter 1:5 - Zachariah and Elizabeth become pregnant with John the Baptist.
  • Chapter 1:26 - Mary becomes pregnant with Jesus by way of the holy spirit.
  • Chapter 1:57 - John the Baptist is born.
  • Chapter 2:1 - Jesus is born, Jesus is taken to Jerusalem to be blessed
  • Chapter 2:41 - Several years later when Jesus’s parents are attending the Passover festival in Jerusalem, Jesus as a kind begins preaching in the Temple

Part 2: /john the Baptist

  • Chapter 3:1 - John the Baptist starts preaching, baptizing and warning of Jesus’s coming.
  • Chapter 3:19 - John is arrested by Herod after they get in an argument.

Part 3: Jesus begins his mission

  • Chapter 3:21 - Jesus is baptized, and the holy spirit descends on him in the shape of a dove.
  • Chapter 3:23 - Jesus’s ancestors are listed.
  • Chapter 4:1 - Jesus goes out into the wilderness and is tempted by Satan.
  • Chapter 4:14 - When Jesus returns he begins preaching in the Synagogues of Galilee.

Part 4: Jesus continues his mission

  • Chapter 4:16 - Jesus travels to Nazareth where he begins preaching, initially he is accepted by them, but then the people become angry with him and drive him out of town.
  • Chapter 4:31 - Jesus travels to Capernaum where he drives out demons, he then goes to Simon’s and heals his mother, he continues to heal the sick, eventually he leaves Capernaum but the people attempt to prevent from him from leaving, he eventually leaves and begins travelling throughout Judea.
  • Chapter 5:1 - At the lake of Gennesaret Jesus preaches from a boat, Jesus then calls Simon, James and John to be his first disciples, Jesus continues to heal the sick and preach, Pharisees come to question him
  • Chapter 5:27 - Jesus calls Levi a tax collector to be his disciple, Jesus continues to preach and heal

Part 5: Jesus’s Apostles

  • Chapter 6:12 - Jesus climbs a mountain and brings all his disciples with him, out of these he chooses 12 to be his apostles Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James, Simon, Judas, Judas Iscariot
  • Chapter 6:17 - When Jesus comes back down the mountain he continues to preach and heal, Jesus travels to Capernaum and Nain healing.
  • Chapter 7:18 - Messengers from John the Baptist are sent out to meet Jesus inquiring if he is the Messiah, Jesus tells them to tell John about all he has done, Jesus continues to teach and heal.
  • Chapter 8:22 - Jesus crosses the sea of galilee, while at sea he rebukes a storm, he then arrives in Gerasenes where he drives demons out of man and transfers them into a pack of pigs which then drown themselves, the towns people then run him out of town.

Part 6: Jesus sends out disciples

  • Chapter 9:1 - Jesus calls the 12 apostles and instructs them to go heal the sick, and preach.
  • Chapter 9:7 - Herod hears about Jesus and wonders who he is.
  • Chapter 9:10 - In Bethsaida Jesus feeds 5000 with limited supplies
  • Chapter 9:21 - Jesus foretells of his death.
  • Chapter 9:28 - Jesus climbs a mountain with Peter, John and James where he is then transfigured.

Part 7: Jesus travels to Jerusalem

  • Chapter 9:51 - Jesus decides it is time to go to Jerusalem and be sacrificed, On the way he reaches a Samaritan city that won’t allow Jesus to stay, he then continues on.
  • Chapter 10:1 - Jesus decides to send 70 of his disciples out into the region and prepare his coming, the 70 return with good news.
  • Chapter 10:38 - Jesus visits Martha and Mary, Jesus teaches the Lord’s prayer and continues to preach, Jesus denounces pharisees
  • Chapter 13:31 - Jesus continues traveling to Jerusalem preaching along the way, the pharisees warn him Herod wants to kill him
  • Chapter 14:15 - Jesus teaches his disciples telling them multiple parables, pharisees and rulers question him along the way to Jerusalem, Jesus stops in Jericho healing and teaching
  • Chapter 19:28 – Jesus reaches the mount of olives, and the cities Bethany and Bethpage just outside of Jerusalem.

Part 8 – Jesus Enters Jerusalem

  • Chapter 19:28 - Once Jesus is at the mount of olives, he sends two of his disciples ahead of him to retrieve a donkey, Jesus then enters Jerusalem on a donkey, the pharisees rebuke Jesus, Jesus responds by going into the temple and overturning the tables of the different merchants, Jesus continues to return to the temple to teach and the pharisees begin to plot ways to kill him, the pharisees and sadducees question Jesus, Jesus foretells the destruction of Jerusalem

Part 9 – Judas betrays Jesus

  • Chapter 22:1 - Passover is drawing near and the priests and scribes are plotting to kill Jesus, then Judas Iscariot decides to betray Jesus and work with the priests and scribes to arrest Jesus.
  • Chapter 22:7 - Jesus helps prepare Passover feast with the disciples and they eat, Jesus goes off to pray later, while Jesus is praying Judas brings the priests and police to arrest him, some of Jesus’s disciples try to fight the police but Jesu s tell them not to, Jesus is arrested,
  • Chapter 22:66 Jesus is then brought before the Jewish council and was tried, he is then brought before the roman governor Pilate and was tried, he is then brought before Herod who governs Galilee and is tried, Pilate and Herod find him innocent but the Jews insist on crucifying him, eventually the Romans give in an agree to crucify him, Jesus is then forced to carry a cross and is then nailed to it

Part 10 – Jesus resurrection

  • Chapter 23:40 - A Jewish priest named Joseph gets permission to bury Jesus
  • Chapter 24:1 - Several days later when his disciples visit the tomb they find it to be empty, some of them are frightened, later that day several of them run into a man who asks them about what they are discussing, then they tell him about Jesus and what happened to him, later they invite the man to stay with them, while they are eating the man breaks bread with them and it is revealed to the disciples that he is Jesus but then he instantly disappears, the witnesses go and tell the other disciples, Jesus then appears to all of them and leads out to the mount of olives where he ascends into heaven
