About the Song

  • This song is about Bibimbap, a popular Korean food.
  • “Bi-bim” means “mix,”
  • “Bap” means “rice.”
  • So, “Bi-bim-bap” means “mix rice.”
  • Bibimbap is typically made by mixing rice, vegetables, meat, an egg, sesame oil, and a chili paste.

Playing the Game

  • Assign every student an ingredient (check out the previous slide).

​

  • Stand in a circle on one of the markers, with one less marker than the number of players.
  • The entire class sings the catchphrase twice. Then, the student in the center calls out 1-3 ingredients of bibimbap or says the word, “bibimbap.” The players whose ingredient was called must move to a new marker. If the center student says “bibimbap,” all players must move.

Playing the Game

  • While the students are scrambling, the student in the center will move to a marker.

​

  • The student who did not get on a new marker in time stands in the center and becomes the new caller.
  • The game continues by singing out the catphrase and calling out ingredients.

A Few Rules

  • Players may not move to a new marker directly adjacent to them on either side.

​

  • If there are two players whose foot gets to the marker at the same time, determine the tie by playing Rock, Paper, Scissors.
