Students investigate how geographers use physical, cultural, and economic maps to identify geographic patterns and draw regions. After examining thematic maps for one world region, students identify areas with similar economic activities and create their own economic regions on a blank map. They conclude by explaining how evidence from multiple maps supports the regions they created.
