Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are so excited to get to know our incoming 3rd graders and to see our returning 4th and 5th graders!  Our job as your child’s school counselors is to play a vital role in educating ALL Heritage students. We assist all students by promoting a safe and positive school climate through Social/Emotional lessons and mental health supports. Moreover, we help students who come to school with emotional, behavioral, and social challenges that compromise their ability to succeed academically.

As your counselors, we are here for you.

This is my 14th year as a school counselor and my 11th year in the district.

I have been married to my husband Tom for 20 years and have three kids, Kyle (27), Emily (18) and Tommy (16).  Kyle is in Medical School in Philadelphia, Emily is a Freshman at Cleveland State University and Tommy is a Junior at Elyria Catholic High School.  I am an avid reader, finishing 22 books this Summer (yay) I love being with my family and my fur-babies!

I feel privileged to work with our students, families and staff every day!

Mrs. Stringer:

Mrs. Haney:

This is my 6th year as a school counselor and my 22nd year in the district!  I spent the first 16 years as a teacher in the district.  (12 of them in 4th grade and 4 at the middle school.)

I have been married to my husband Chad for 17 years and have two daughters, Ella (15) and Addisyn (12).  Both attend Avon Local Schools.

In my free time, I enjoy running, exercising, riding my bike, watching the sunset, snuggling with my pups, boating, and spending time with my family.

I am proud to be an Avon School Counselor and love what I do!
