Kia Ora, Kamusta, Namaste, Ni hao, Talofa Lava, Malo e lelei, Bula Vinaka, Kia orana , Warm Greetings and welcome to you all.
Today we gather to celebrate and praise God for the gift of Catholic Schools and Catholic Education. We are fortunate to be educated in a catholic school where we learn to love and follow Jesus our Lord.
MELE
Today is also the feast day of the
Archangels: St. Michael, St.Gabriel
and St. Raphael.
Let us ask them for their prayers
and guidance in our journey in
life.
As a sign of our Catholic faith we come together:
Ki te ingoa o te Matua
O te Tamaiti,
O te Wairua Tapu
Amene.
There’s a power that unites us
It’s the Spirit of the Son
And we witness to his presence
When our voices join as one
Celebrate the life we’re living
Treasure Christian Dignity
Here we stand and join together
With our faith community
Celebrate
God’s only Son
And give praise to his name
Looking out for one another
Let Christ’s love be our guide
When we choose his life of service
He is always at our side
In our teaching and our learning
May we grow and light the way
Gift the earth the hope within us
Blessing all we do and say.

Let us take one minute to clear our minds and our hearts as we are about to listen to the Gospel of the Lord.
May the Holy Spirit be with us as we open our hearts to listen to His words.

Gospel: Luke 14 : 12 - 14
A reading from the holy gospel according to Luke
Jesus said to the man who had invited him to dinner:
“When you give a dinner or a banquet, don’t invite your friends, family, relatives and rich neighbours.
If you do, they will invite you in return, and you will be paid back.
When you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. They cannot pay you back.
But God will bless you and reward you when his people rise from death.”

Prayers of the faithful
We pray for Pope Francis, for our Bishops, Bishop Dunn and Bishop Michael, for all priests in the diocese and for all who work, to bring God’s message into our world.
May Christ’s example be always in their hearts and minds, as they go about doing the work, that Jesus called them to do.

O Christ, our Teacher, We thank you for the gift of Catholic schools, where the message of your life, death, and resurrection is proclaimed, discipleship is modeled, worship of you is cultivated, and community is experienced.
Increase our zeal for ensuring that all children and families can benefit from an authentic Catholic education, and that Catholic schools grow in their ability to nurture the souls and form the minds of its students for generations to come.
We ask this through the intercession of Our Lady, Mother of Catholic Schools.
Amen.
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
May Almighty God
Bless us all and may we be the sign of God’s love in our homes, schools and the world. Amen.
