“Chicken Little”

Once upon a time, there was a little, timid chicken named Chicken Little.

One day, while she was walking through the quiet, green forest, a small acorn fell from a tall tree and hit her on the head.

“Oh no!” cried the frightened Chicken Little. “The sky is falling! I must go and tell the great king!”

As she hurried along, she met her kind friend Henny Penny.

“Where are you going in such a big rush?” asked Henny Penny.

“The sky is falling!” said the worried Chicken Little. “I’m going to tell the king!”

“Then I’ll come with you,” said the loyal Henny Penny.

Soon, they met Ducky Lucky, Goosey Loosey, and Turkey Lurkey…each one more confused than the last. Each time, Chicken Little told them the same scary story.

“The sky is falling!”, said Chicken Little …and each one replied, “Then I’ll come too!”

So the nervous group of animals ran through the forest to see the king. On the way, they met a sly, cunning fox named Foxy Loxy. “Where are you all going?” he asked in a smooth voice.

“We are going to tell the king that the sky is falling!” they said.

“Oh dear,” said the fox with a tricky smile. “I know a short, secret path. Follow me!”

Trusting him, the animals followed the fox straight to his dark, hidden den and they were never seen again. The End.
