Do’s

- Read the code of ethics to become well informed in ethical research.

- Follow any and all safety/ethical procedures to protect your life.

- Report any unsafe/unethical behavior as it is not tolerated.

- In the case of any emergency above code 2 halt any testing until the situation has concluded.

- In the case of a code 5 emergency please stay in the personnel ward until the code has concluded.

- Value your life. Run away and get to safety.

- pursue RP when given the chance.

Dont’s

- Do not ever leave the facility. (unless a code black is in

effect)

- No researcher is to ever have cuffs/weapons of any kind in their possession. (executives+ excluded)

- Do not cross test without the appropriate approval.(see code of ethics)

- Don't mix out of character topics with in character ones as this is fail RP.

- Do not abuse SCP's 999, 912, and 2295.

- Do not Post hazardous pictures/abuse printer privileges.

- Do not behave unethically or unsafely.

- Don’t abuse the credit system.

- Acting unethically will require you be arrested and interrogated for your misconduct. (possible temporary ban from research)

SCP-914

No organic cross-testing with SCP-914. (unless approved by ethics)

SCP-914 is not to be misused. All tests with SCP-914 must be approved by Executive researchers/ethics.

Using SCP-914 for personal gain is unethical and WILL GET YOU ARRESTED.

SCP-914 must be tested with an I.A./MTF agent supervising.

Clearance Level

  • Do not go anywhere above your clearance unsupervised.
  • Do not use any other keycard but your own.
  • If you see a keycard on the ground please ask security to destroy it and do not leave it unattended.
  • Report any misuse of keycards.
  • Researchers are permitted testing on SCP’s 1 level above their clearance so long as it is supervised by a researcher the proper level.

Pop Quiz

TRUE or FALSE

SCP-914 is level 2 clearance so as a junior researcher, all you need to do is get someone of the proper clearance level to oversee the test.

Running a Test

  • Max of 3 D-class test subjects allowed in any test unless approved by ethics.
  • Make sure you have the proper amount of gensec escorts. (1 escort per D-class)
  • Make sure test subjects get weapon checked and cuffed.
  • Know what SCP you want to test ahead of time.
  • Always debrief the test subject on their objective and inform them to provide higher survival chance.
  • Always be sure to credit ALL D-class, Gensec, or MTF participating in testing, before testing begins.
  • Apply scientific method. Have an aim, hypothesis, method, conclusion, etc.
  • Record all your data in your clipboard.

Writing a Research Study

  • It’s good practice to write out any research paper before running test trials.

  • Research papers are also used to propose your case to ethics for clearance to do a test.

  • Finished research papers can be uploaded to scipnet to be graded and posted to SCP foundation database.

Ethics

  • Do not kill D-class and call it testing. Do actual research and apply scientific method.
  • D-class are to be supervised by gensec/MTF for the entire time they are free from D-block.
  • D-class can not be removed from cells for testing. They must leave D-block willingly.
  • Any research personnel wanting to conduct cross-tests must consult exec. researcher+.
  • Whomever is leading the experiment has full responsibility over the controls of the test chamber and who takes over said controls.
  • Any tests that might seem unethical in any way need to be taken to executive researchers for review.

Be Prepared

  • Write your research paper before going to ethics.
  • If ethics needs to be consulted print out your research paper with a signature line ahead of time.
  • If testing requires extra support personnel/equipment gather them before testing.
  • Do your research on the SCP of interest.
  • Always think ahead in terms of safety, ethics, etc
