What We’re Learning:

Math—Unit 9/10: Addition & Subtraction Review

  • Count on by 10s and 100s forward and backwards
  • Determine and explain if an equation is true
  • Identify unknown numbers within equations
  • Understand and solve word problems
  • Show, identify, and describe number patterns

Reading—Module 9: Home Sweet Habitat

  • Skills: context clues, author’s purpose, fact/opinion, retelling, story & poem elements, figurative language

ScienceUnit 5: Biodiversity in Habitats

  • What plants need to grow
  • Animal classification & habitats

Writing—Unit 8: Procedural(How To) Unit

  • Write informative/explanatory pieces to establish a topic and provide information about the topic.

Mar. 12: End of Quarter 3, Behavior Bash, PTA Skate Night

Field Trip

Reminders:

Our class is going to Paris Mountain on Monday, 3/9! We will be outside all day, so please remind your student of the following:

  • Wear closed-toe shoes – sneakers or shoes comfortable for being outside
  • Wear appropriate outdoor clothing
  • Bring a coat or light jacket
  • Bring extra socks – in case feet get wet from the creek or muddy areas
  • If bringing a lunch, bring it in a paper bag or Ziplock bag with your child's name clearly written on it
