Note: Integrate Pocket Garden Branding
Although we take cues from bee visuals (hexagons, color yellow) we hope to also convery the visual identity of Pocket Garden in the space
Color palette
The brand takes inspiration from heat maps, that depicts life and energy. We’ve used this both as a gradients and zoomed in very closely as individual dots and points.

Identity and Space Design
Placemaking & Identity
Schematic Space Designs
- No more roof
- Tiny roofs per bee hive instead
- Pave entire space in the hex cells, play with heights, colors, and textures
- Turn some cells to seats (400m in height)
- Gathering area
- Remove fence to use whole space
CONSULTING SESSION W/ ARCH GELO & L.ARCH ALFONSO
FEEDBACK
- Add gate in eskinita entrance
- Maintenance area can be fenced and where we put vining
- No more green, living wall -> make into art/interactive walls
- Only 3 hours of sunlight -- shade plants only (look at Alfonso's list)
- Storytell: bees thrive from the acacia trees in the area
Also, the hive stands, can we think of planting mint around it? can help with any ant problems in the future

Community Activation
Crowdsourcing
Plant Lists
We crowdsourced suggestions of plants that would thrive in the Bee Garden. Considerations were made due to sunpath and priority was given to species that are native or provide a specific service to the bees (e.g. anti-pest).
Interactive Wall Design*
*ongoing
We hope to ask our Discord Community of Practice for inspiration for interactive wall designs for the bee garden
Fundraising w/ Museo Pambata
*to be announced
Asking help from the entire Pocket Garden community to help Museo Pambata raise the funds for the bee garden so it can be fully ready to welcome kids in 2022!
