  • Women in third world countries don’t get as many education opportunities as men
  • Girls in third world countries are often the first people pulled out of education because of family issues

If Girls Are Educated

  • If girls are educated they could make new discoveries
  • If they aren’t taken out and married off they could be slightly less depressed

How Gender Inequality Affects Women in Other Countries

In the US there is very little gender discrimination but there is some. According to the Wall Street Journal women get paid 78 cents for every dollar a man makes even when they are doing the same job.

  • Discrimination on women everywhere
  • Early forced marriages at young ages
  • Violence on women
  • Unequal pay

Gender Discrimination

  • The 4th biggest problem in India is women being raped
  • The legal ages for getting married are a lot younger for women than men
  • Daughters don't get as good medical treatment as sons
  • African women face discrimination in the workplace
  • Most African women can only acquire low pay, low skill jobs.
  • In 2004, a study in Zimbabwe showed that 87.4% of girls with disabilities have been sexually abused.
