  • NZ is part of the 2019 Voluntary National Review (VNR) of the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development
  • NZ participates in 39 Partnerships for SDGs many of which are in the Pacific
  • Tertiary institutions could join the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI)
  • Engineering NZ Occupational Licensing for Safety Critical Engineering
  • Additional Engineering NZ and partners continuing education courses

  • NZ engineers played a significant role in the development and structure of:
    • NZ environmental institutions
    • South Pacific island nations
    • Development of communities resilient to natural disasters
  • More work needs to be done to:
    • Provide sustainable infrastructure for people with disabilities
    • Bring more women and persons of different ethnicities into the engineering field
    • Response faster to the rapidly changing natural, social, and virtual environment particularly with globalization
