PROJECT DESCRIPTION

  • The objective of the current study was to assess the need for lean management in the admissions department of the out-patient clinic of a mid-sized hospital.
  • The investigator evaluated the potential benefits to patients if lean management were implemented in the registration process.
  • Lean techniques have been applied both in manufacturing and service organizations to address issues relating to waste and process flow and to minimize variation in processes thereby improving the quality of products/services provided to customers
