Feedback in Canvas
Your feedback matters for your students- especially since they are likely not getting a “grade.” You can record media comments. And you can use the speech to text option.
I use a textexpander to allow me to give more detailed feedback. I begin my feedback personal to the student and then I use a textexpander to elaborate.
EX: Student, great effort with this new topic. In French, most adjective go after your nouns. Here are your corrections: …..

TextExpander
I use the google extension for text expander, but there are many options.
I give my assignments a code- for example, the Unit 1 Lesson 1 Assignment 1 code is 111;
After I type 111; - then it will auto populate to say- Intéressant! Great discussion about this topic. When I was in high school, my motivation for learning French was my desire to go to Paris. During college, I did a study abroad in France and fell in love with France. I've now been to several French countries, but have yet to go to Belgium, so that's where I'd most like to travel.
It helps me to give longer feedback to all students, and also- I want to point them to a website or video and I can have that in my autotext.
Text expander
I go to Google Menu- More Tools- Extensions.
I select Auto Text Expander for Google Chrome.
I click on Extension options to see all of my shortcuts.
