Today’s DESSA Agenda (20-30min)

Staff have shared strong feedback, specifically a desire for the following:

1. See data from DESSA - both self-report and teacher reports (slides 5-10)
2. Shared resources related to data driven needs (Slide 11)
3. Opportunity to review and discuss resources
4. Opportunity to practice using strategies and/or interventions related to data driven needs

Today’s work around DESSA, and this slide show is intended to walk you through these topics, and begin to provide the information and opportunities.

Please be sure to complete the feedback survey (slide 12) so we can continue to reflect and improve; and leave your questions in the Q&A Doc (slide 12)

What Data are You Seeing?

• The next 4 slides are data from the student self-reports (9-12th grade)
• Each slide represents the % of students who reported:
• RED = need for improvement/growth
• BLUE = typical range
• GREEN = strength
• Each bar represents one skill competency measured by the DESSA
• There are 9 total competencies

- Slide #9 represents the total % of students (9-12 combined) who from their self-report overall had a need for growth, typical, or strength as a full score (i.e. student’s rating themselves)

- Slide #10 represents the total % of students (9-12 combined) who overall were rated by Teachers as having a need for growth, typical, or strength as a full score (i.e. staff rating students)

**Slide 9 and 10 can be compared to see the difference between how we are rating students vs. them rating themselves (as a full score)

**We had 319 high school students complete the report

DESSA Resource Bank and Activity Directions

• Please use the DESSA ACTIVITY BANK to access resources. You will find 9 tabs, each tab representing a competency related to DESSA. The tabs are filled with a variety of resources.
• As we continue this year, please feel free to add a resource you have used and would like to share with everyone else.
• In TA groups, as a whole group, review the data specific to your grade
• What does the data tell you?
• What questions do you still have?
• What is surprising?
• As a whole TA staff, identify 1-2 competencies based on the data and your discussion, that you would like to commit to as a group to target between now and the Winter Break (Dec 22nd)
• Using a Pair/Share, pair up and review 2-3 resources in your agreed upon competency
• Share out what you learned and what resource you plan on trying
• Add any notes to the Resource bank that you think would be helpful for all staff to know
